Appointments System

To see a GP you must have an appointment. These can be booked up to two months in advance. Appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals. We try to run on time as far as possible, but inevitably some appointments do run over.

To help keep surgeries running smoothly:

  • Please arrive on time (if you are more than ten minutes late the doctor may not see you)
  • Please let us know if you cannot keep your appointment
  • Please do not “squeeze in” other people in your slot
  • Please remember that the length of appointments are limited and that other people are waiting too!

Advanced Nurse Practitioners

We pleased to announce that we now have 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) to compliment our service ‑ Tina McPherson and Claire Jones Tracy Murphy.

ANPs are trained nurses with advanced skills and expertise. They have undergone significant additional training and are able to provide assessment, examination and diagnosis of most conditions and can prescribe medication. They can refer to specialists at the hospital or send you for tests, X-rays or scans if they feel these are appropriate.

Most patient on the sit and wait service will be seen by an ANP. You may also find that you are offered a routine appointment with an ANP in the first instance rather than a doctor.

Interpreter

If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.
