All staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors. The receptionists are your link with the doctors and nurses and will try to help to access the most appropriate service. They may need to ascertain the urgency of a particular request, the more information you can give them the better.

Our Nursing Team

Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners are trained nurses with advanced skills and expertise. They have undergone significant additional training and are able to provide assessment, examination and diagnosis and of most conditions and can prescribe medication.

They can refer to specialists at the hospital or send you for tests, X-rays or scans if they feel these are appropriate.

A phlebotomist, takes blood samples from patients which are examined in a laboratory and the results can be used to quickly diagnose diseases and conditions.

Community Midwives

The community midwives offer advice on all aspects of antenatal and postnatal care. They hold regular clinics at the surgery. You will be referred to them by your doctor. They can be contacted on 01480 357963/4.

Community Nurses

The district nurses provide nursing care at home to patients of all ages in the community. This includes those recently discharged from hospital and the housebound. They also give advice and support to the terminally ill at home. They can be contacted on 0330 7260077.

Health Visitors

The health visitors can be contacted on 0300 0295050 they mainly care for children under the age of five.
